KNIT Meeting – Steeking

Steek!  Eek! – That’s the theme of our April meeting.  Be adventurous and join us as we boldly embark on an event where only fearless knitters dare…that is, cutting our knitting with courage and fortitude.  

Supplies

• The pattern used for the project is “Steek This Coffee Cozy” by Rachel Henry, and it is free on Ravelry.  This is knitted in the round.
• Worsted weight 100% wool (avoid superwash) – at least three colors
• Circular needles or DPN appropriate for the yarn weight
• Scissor

Homework

You can knit the cozy using the charted Fair Isle pattern given, or you can knit stripes, or your own pattern, or only one color.  

The important part is that you work the number of stitches called for (begins with only 49 and increases up to 53) for close to the number of rows given (only 25!).  

We will steek your knitting, make the band, and sew on buttons as time allows at the meeting. 

Scary, fun things (like roller coasters, haunted houses, etc.) are always more fun with friends.  Knit your cozy and come to the Steek! Eek! Meeting.  We will cut our knitting together!
