Join us as we begin our KNIT COWL KAL! You choose from three patterns: Makes Me Happy Cowl by Diane L. Augustin; Amazing Day Cowl by Beth Garbo; and The Sampler Cowl by Heather Lynch. We will begin each pattern during the meeting, including casting on and joining in the round and provisional cast-on. Bring your needles, yarn, pattern, and stitch markers (for joining in the round, removable stitch markers will be helpful).
- Choose your pattern and yarn
- Swatch for the gauge specified in the pattern you will be working.
It’s time to bring the first guild mystery knit-a-long to a close this weekend with the announcement of the prize winners! I’d like to thank you all for participating and making this a very successful knit-a-long. It’s been so fun seeing all of your progress and successes. We had a good mix of participants from every chapter and managed to raise around $90.00 for our guild Charity budget! Awesome job everyone.
Now for the part we’ve all been waiting for:
Using a random number generator I’ve selected 4 entries from the FO thread on and 2 entries from the chatter thread on Ravelry and paired them up with the prizes you see above (plus a $25 e-gift credit donated by the lovely Jane Richmond to be used for any of her patterns).
First up is a set of Knitter’s Pride KnitBlockers! Congratulations Nancy P. :)
Next up is a beautiful skein of Luscious Sock base (4-ply fingering) from Primrose Yarn Co. in the colorway “Space Opera”. This will be going home with Cynthia L.
Here is another beautiful fingering weight skein of yarn donated by our very own Natasha Sills from Gritty Knits. This is her luxurious Phillie mcs blend in the colorway “Cornflower” which will be going home with Catherine D.
Next we have a 1-2 skein, drawstring project bag from Little Skein in the Big Wool. I hope Bethel K. can find a project to fill it with :)Next up is another project bag from Mrs. Brown’s Bags. This is a zipper bag for 1-2 skein projects all for Kristie J.
And last, but not least, the designer of our lovely mystery mittens has donated a $25 gift credit for her pattern designs which can be redeemed through Ravelry by Paula C. Follow the link below to start picking out your next pattern :) Thank you so much for your generosity Jane! You’ve made the planning and execution of this knit-a-long so much smoother and I’m just so grateful for all of your support.
That, guys, will conclude this year’s Mystery Knit-A-Long. Thank you all for participating! Winners, you will be receiving an email regarding your prize delivery shortly, and all participants should have received their pattern code along with instructions to retrieve your e-version of the Spate mittens pattern.
If you’d like to help plan our next guild knit-a-long or if you have any feedback for this MKAL feel free to email firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to hear from you so we can continue making events like this fun and engaging for our awesome members.
Until next time!
The first clue in the Guild’s Mystery KnitALong is released!
We begin our annual KAL this month. This will be a short 1 month KAL. We will be knitting hats for charity, and have plenty of donated yarn for this purpose. Please bring needles in the 9 to 11 range to start a hat at the meeting. Pick out some of the donated yarn and start your hat. The hats will be collected at the February meeting to be distributed.
