KNOT Meeting – Dorset Buttons

Please note that this is one week early due to Thanksgiving.
Our December meeting will also be held early, on December 20th. 


Leslie Graham will be teaching us how to make Dorset buttons.  Supplies will be provided.  All you need to bring is a pair of scissors.

KNOT Meeting – Dyeing yarn and Roving at Mohair & More



The next KNOT meeting will be at 10:30am on Saturday, September 29th at Mohair & More in New Waverly.  PLEASE NOTE THE DATE AND LOCATION CHANGE.  Bill Lane will be teaching us about dyeing yarn and roving.
Non-members are welcome to attend but must RSVP to by Monday, September 24 to allow time to prepare space and extra yarn for dyeing.

KNOT Meeting – Italian Cast-on

Marilee Belanger will be teaching the Italian cast-on and various places where it’s a good one to use.  Please bring some scrap yarn and needles of the appropriate size to use for this cast-on.  There is no homework. 

KNOT Meeting – Double Hooking


Knitters North of Town will meet from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm on July 21 at Immanuel United Church of Christ, 26501 Border Street, Spring.

Bryne Scheinman-Miller will demonstrate Double Hooking, a type of crochet done using a special tool with a hook on each end.  We’ll be having our annual Pic-Knit.  The chapter will provide fried chicken and drinks; members are asked to bring a picnic-type side dish to share. 


KNOT Meeting – Knit Your Socks on Straight

Sue Werner will describe two methods for knitting socks on straight needles with samples and instructions for socks based on the book Knit Your Socks on Straight by Alice Curtis.  There is no homework required for this program.    

KNOT Meeting – Cast-ons

Not Your Everyday Cast-on – Come join us for an exploration of 3 useful, Not Your Everyday, cast-ons with Roxanne Rump! We will discuss techniques, along with when and where to use different cast-ons. Come armed with your questions and ideas.

KNOT Meeting – Avery Cowl KAL

We will be starting a knitalong in March. Last month we chose the pattern, a cowl called Avery designed by Kate Gagnon Osborn. This pattern is free on Ravelry and requires only one skein of a DK weight yarn. A sample of Avery will be available for you to see at the meeting in case you didn’t see it in January. 

KNOT Mtg – Fiber Fest from a Vendor

Shelley Martella, owner of Threads & Ewe, will speak about fiber festivals from the vendor’s side of the table.  Her online shop sells both yarn and quilting fabric, and she will bring some of each to sell.  Members who want something specific may contact Shelley prior to the meeting so that she can bring what they want.
