DESCRIPTION:At our May 21st meeting\, our program will be about swatching\, determining gauge\, and blocking. \nDuring the program swatches will be used to examine gauge and why it is different and how one can adjust gauge. Blocking techniques will also be discussed. \nThere will be homework for those attending. \nHomework–make 2 swatches \n\nUsing worsted weight (#4) yarn and size 7 needles\, cast on 32 stitches and knit in stockinette stitch for 4-6″. Make 2 of these.\nSoak one of the swatches in cool water for 15-30 minutes. Lay it out and pin it so the edges are straight. DO NOT STRETCH IT. Leave the pins in until the swatch is totally dry (several hours or overnight).\nDon’t do anything to the second swatch.

DESCRIPTION:At our July meeting we will begin work on our next charity project. It was decided that we would knit and crochet wash clothes for charity. \nAs part of the process of working on this project\, we are going to have a presentation on “crocheting for knitters” and we will have patterns for those that would like to learn and those who are proficient at crocheting available. Knitting patterns will also be provided at the meeting. \nMore information will be sent prior to our meeting.
