SUMMARY:KNOW Meeting - Crewel Embroidery
DESCRIPTION:KNOW’s June program will be an “Introduction to Crewel Embroidery on Hand Knits“. \nWe’ll be exploring the very hot trend of visible mending on garments and learning how to add embellishments to our hand knitted items. The visible mending movement has been driven by people interested in sustainability and who are concerned by the environmental impact of “fast fashion”. \nIf you’d like to try crewel embroidery you’re invited to “shop your closet” and bring a knitted garment\, or maybe a swatch or a dishcloth to work on. \nYou’ll also need a blunt tapestry needle and some fingering or worsted weight scrap yarn\, or embroidery floss\, or needlepoint tapestry yarn (we’ll bring some too). If you’ve done visible mending before\, please bring in any examples to share with other members and inspire us all. \n  \nMembers are also invited to show and share any of your completed projects. \n  \nMembers often arrive early to visit over dinner and show their support to the restaurant for their generosity in allowing us to meet there. Visitors and members from other chapters are always welcome.
