Bringing it Alive with Seaming – hands-on workshop and seaming demonstration
Seaming techniques for shoulders, vertical and horizontal adjustments
Are you making good progress on your sweaters this year? I hope this month’s topic catches you when you are getting close to putting your sweater together. This month we will delve into seaming. We will be seaming horizontally, vertically, and cast-on to cast-off.
You must prepare and block several small swatches in worsted-weight yarn to participate. Please use a long-tail cast-on and a regular bind-off.
Please make two 3″ x 6″ swatches and two 3″ x 3″ squares. It might be easiest if they aren’t in variegated yarn. Bring the swatches, a ruler, calculator or other way to do math, a pencil, a yarn needle, and yarn scraps to use in seaming. You may choose to use a different color for seaming so you can see what is happening.
