KNOW Meeting – Sweater (cont.)

February 26 @ 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

In February, we will take the next steps in preparing to knit a sweater – Yarn Selection. We will look at potential yarns, their types and compositions, and how these will affect your project’s results.

Most importantly, we will be tackling the dreaded gauge swatch. This necessary step will make sure that your sweater fits you.

HOMEWORK: Please knit 3 – 6” x 6” swatches in the different potential sweater yarn choices using the appropriate needle size. (You can certainly make more than these). Wash and block them. We will be measuring gauge to see which yarns/needle combinations are appropriate for knitting your sweater.

> Please bring straight-edge ruler, straight pins, and have a calculator handy to compute your gauge.

Members often arrive early to visit and have dinner at the restaurant to show support for their generosity in allowing us to meet there. Guild members and visitors are welcome.
