Executive Board Handover Meeting

The Handover Meeting is scheduled for Saturday, August 2nd at 8:30a-11:30a at the Trini Mendenhall Community Center!

Meeting is intended for all outgoing and incoming members of the Executive Board and the Chapter Presidents. Membership persons from the chapter level also welcome.

Please bring your green KANG binder for the handover meeting!!

Refreshments will be provided.

Join us for a sit n’ knit. No program – just knitting, crocheting and socializing.

Many of our members often come early to dine at the restaurant and show appreciation for their generosity in allowing us to meet there.

KNOW will be having the Knitting in Art program that was supposed to be in May. We will also be voting on the Executive Board slate of officers.

Please join us for a fun program on knitting/crocheting in the arts. This will be a presentation by Nancy Polychronopoulos.

Bring your knitting or crocheting and your listening ears! Members often arrive early to visit over dinner and show their support to the restaurant for their generosity in allowing us to meet there. Visitors and members from other chapters are always welcome.

Charity Knit-In (feat. The Landing)

Our next charity event is Saturday, April 12 from 11-3 at Spring Creek Barbeque, 21000 Katy Fwy, Katy. This event is hosted by KNOW!

A guest speaker from The Landing will talk about their clients’ needs that crafters can support such as soap sacks or pouches.

We recommend the Anything Knit Pouch pattern by Mama in a Stitch, which is made with super bulky yarn on size US 13 needles.

Yarn, thread and buttons will be provided April 12.

Do you know any good knitting and crocheting hacks? We are going to be sharing and discussing tips and tricks to make your knitting/crocheting life easier. No tip or trick is too small or insignificant! You never know who will have an “aha!” moment when they hear your hack. Come prepared to share!

The KNOW chapter will have a program on Three Variations on Ribbing for Scarves and Sweaters, presented by Amy Rogers.

Amy will be teaching us the Mistake Rib, the Broken Rib, and another of her choice. Please bring any yarn, preferably variegated or novelty yarn, and the appropriate-sized needles. There is no homework.

Have you seen or heard about the viral “Emotional Support Chicken“? Join the fun with this fast knit project and use up some of those OOAK skeins or slim down that stash!

Please bring some worsted-weight yarn (nearly any fiber including acrylic) and size 7 needles OR fingering-weight yarn and size 1, 1.5, or 2 needles. Recommend variegated, tweedy, patterned, or tonal yarn with a solid contrast yarn, but you do you.

Buy your pattern ahead if you would like to get a head start.
Bethel King will share many tricks and tips and provide cute tags for your future #ESC.

CHANGE OF DATE!!

The KNOW chapter will be having our annual holiday party early.

We will meet Monday, December 16th at 6:30 pm at Spring Creek BBQ.

There will be finger foods and everyone is encouraged to bring a sweet or savory holiday treat. We will be doing a gift exchange/party game. For those who want to participate, please bring a wrapped skein of fingering weight yarn (no acrylic please!) in the $30-35 range. Hope to see everyone there!
