KNOW December meeting

KNOW will be Zooming on December 14th starting at 7:00 pm. (Please note this is not our usual meeting date.)
Participants are asked to don their most outrageous Christmas wear and we will knit and visit.

SoCK Secret Santa meeting

Hybrid meeting:  Zoom and Richard and Meg Weekly Community Center

Join SoCK as we celebrate our first virtual Secret Santa. We will also be sharing our favorite holiday snacks and beverages recipes and ideas with each other. We are currently working on our recent KAL – The Bright Side. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

CHIX December meeting

CHIX meetings will still be continuing on Zoom. Please join us for a conversation and show and tell about your latest project. Bring to the discussion an interesting find in technique, pattern etc. Hope to see you there.

KNIT – December meeting

Join us for KNIT’s hybrid meetings. We meet on ZOOM, and If you want to join the ZOOM meeting with other KNIT members, you can meet at Trini Mendenhall and ZOOM from there. We miss those of you who haven’t been able to ZOOM. We will mask up and be safe at the Community Center.

KNOT November Meeting

The November and December KNOT meetings will be combined and held on December 3rd from 6:00-8:00. We will be holding our Annual Holiday Knitting meeting at an alternative location (TBD). Look out for a KNOT flyer for more details about the KNOT Holiday Knitting meeting. Please consider kitting an item for donation to the Montgomery County Women’s Shelter. We will be collecting items at the Holiday Knitting Meeting on December 3rd. Tote bags, toiletries, women & children’s hats, scarves and shawls would be much appreciated during this upcoming cold season.

KNOW Meeting – Steeking

At the current moment we are holding Zoom meetings. KNOW Chapter members, please watch your email for a Zoom invitation. Members of other KANG Chapters are welcome to join us, please email know@knitatnight.org by September 24th to receive an invite to join our meeting.

KNOW will be having a steek night! We plan to complete our mini knit-along by steeking on our fair isle coffee cozy, then finish off with a button band. For anyone who missed part 1, you can knit your fair isle piece ahead of the meeting:

Alternatively, bring any other fair isle knitted practice piece (ideally in non-superwash wool).  And bring your scissors! We will be cutting up our knitting (on purpose!) then putting on a button band.

KNOT Meeting

The September KNOT meeting will be held via ZOOM on 9/24 at 6:30 pm. Please ensure your email is up-to-date, as you will receive the meeting invitation in the email that is on record with membership. KIK Meeting – Brioche Shawl

KIK’s meeting will be on Zoom, September 19th at 10:00 am. KIK Chapter members, please watch your email for a Zoom invitation. Members of other KANG Chapters are welcome to join us; please email kik@knitatnight.org to receive an invite to join our meeting.

Members should send pictures of their finished projects by Thursday the 17th for a show and share using PowerPoint.

We will be knitting samples of brioche for the program to start a two color brioche cowl.

Supplies:  A dark and light color DK weight yarn, US size 4 circular needles about 24-32″, a stitch marker.

Homework:  Knit 2 starter samples of 4 and 5 row stockinette using 25 cast on stitches. The 4 row sample will be in the darker color and the 5 row sample will be in the lighter color.

KIND Meeting – Knitting as Protest

The KIND chapter will meet via Zoom on Thursday, September 17.  Nancy Polychronopoulous from the KNIT chapter will give a talk on the history of knitting and crafting as a form of protest – think Madame Defarge from Tale of Two Cities!
