SoCK Meeting – Eek! Let’s Steek (pt. 2)
For January’s meeting, Annette Willis introduced us to steeking and when it is used in knitting.
This month, we will steek the coffee cozy we made during and after the January meeting. For those who may have missed the January meeting, “Steek this Coffee Cozy” by Rachel Molenaar, is the free pattern we used.
If you want something simpler, cast on about 40 stitches in worsted weight yarn and knit about a 3-4-inch band in the round. We will provide all the supplies to steek your cozy. If you have ever steeked a project, please bring it to show the group.

Join the SoCK group for our annual holiday party. Formulate your gift-stealing strategy for our White Elephant Gift Exchange Game. Bring a wrapped gift ($25-35 value) without any name tag. The gift should be related to or themed after knit/crochet/yarn, etc. Participation in the White Elephant is optional, but it’s a lot of fun and can be quite competitive! Bring knitting-friendly snacks or finger food. With any luck, the weather will be cool enough to show off lovely hand-made scarves, shawls, or sweaters. Come join us!
