KIND Meeting – Duplicate Knitting

Marsha Smith will show us how to do duplicate knitting.

In preparation, please knit a small swatch, using these instructions:

  • Row 1 and 2: Knit
  • Row 3: Knit 18
  • Row 4: K2, P14, K2

  • Row 15 and 16: Knit

KIND Meeting – Holiday Celebration

KIND will be having a holiday celebration!

All are asked to bring a savory or sweet dish to share.
Also, we will collect small toiletries to donate to a shelter or other charity.

KIND Meeting – Christmas Crafts

Join us for some knitted/crocheted/crafted Christmas ornaments or decorations!

Everyone is asked to bring any of these that they may have, no matter how long ago or recently. It would be helpful for you to bring the pattern and/or name of the yarn, if you can.

KIND Meeting – Dyeing with Kool Aid

For October Annie Foley will be teaching us how to dye yarn with Kool-Aid!!

We have seen her vibrant colors of yarn that she has done this way. This is an easy, fun and safe way to dye yarn.

Materials:

  • Yarn and dye will be provided
  • Aprons optional.

**NOTE: Due to early voting at Bayland Community Center, our space is limited, so please email Barbara Hass (barhass323@gmail.com) if you are not a KIND member and would like to attend.

KIND meeting – How to knit a sweater

This month and the following months we will work on Cheryl Brunette’s “How to make a sweater” class.  The website for the class is https://howtoknitasweater.com .

The class has 15 videos; some of these we will watch in class, others you will need to watch at home.  For the April class, the homework is below.  It looks like a lot but it shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes.
  • Go to the link above and click on the “Sign me up!” button.  Enter your name and email address then click “Get started here”.
  • Download the handouts
  • The class starts on the page titled “Part 1: Welcome to the Workshop.”  The attachment in this email is the same as the “download the pattern” link so you won’t need to do that.
  • Watch video “Part 1: Welcome to the Workshop” and the video “Making and measuring a gauge swatch”.
  • Get the yarn and needles you want to use for the sweater – this is a test knit in a size to fit a small child so you won’t need a lot of yarn.
