KNIT Meeting – Holiday Cheer

Join us this month for a:

  1. Holiday Potluck – Celebrate the holidays with your fellow knitters at our annual holiday potluck. Please let us know if you plan to attend and what dish you will bring (sweet or savory). The chapter will provide the utensils, paper products, and drinks. Email Natalie by Dec 13th @ salter.natalie@gmail.com to let her know what you are bringing for the potluck.

  2. White Elephant Yarn Exchange – Bring a wrapped (doesn’t have to be fancy, a plain bag will do) skein of nice yarn (no acrylic please) for a fun exchange of yarn.

  3. Show and share of your recently completed projects.

KNIT Meeting – Members Helping Members

Members Helping Members

Have a project in the back of your closet or designated as hibernating on Ravelry because you need assistance with a stitch, instructions or technique? Brush the cobwebs off the project, bring it to the meeting to take advantage of the expertise of other members, and get your project back on track.

Also, be sure to bring your recently completed projects for Show & Share!

While we hope to see you all in person, there will be a zoom option also available for those who unable to make it.  Just send a note to knitatnightguildknit@gmail.com and we will forward you the dial-in information if you are not on our chapter mailing list.

KNIT Meeting – Cast-ons / Cast-offs (continued…!)

This month we are continuing our Cast-on / Cast-off series by learning the “Italian Two Color” cast-on and cast-off.

This is a great combo for brioche, double knitting, two color rib, etc.

Also, be sure to bring your recently completed projects for Show & Share!

We are back to in-person meetings and focusing this September’s program on Cast-ons & Cast-offs!

KNIT Meeting – Cast-ons / Cast-offs

Our meeting will highlight two different pairs of cast-ons/cast-offs.
In addition, for show and share, bring or have pictures of the following for the YEAR of COVID:
  1. Ugliest project you’ve worked on (not necessarily finished)
  2. Project you’re most proud of, and
  3. Most challenging project you’ve done this year.
Be prepared to share the count of your completed projects for THE YEAR OF COVID. If you have your Ravelry account, show us that. (Door prize for the most!).

KNIT Meeting –

Welcome back to Trini Mendehall for the Co-Presidents hand-off. We are excited to welcome as new Co-Presidents, Natalie and Karen. Bring your projects to work on. Let’s celebrate seeing each other. A virtual link will be provided for members who want to join online.

KNIT Zoom Meeting – Color Theory

Join us Tuesday June 8 at 6:30 via Zoom for a presentation and play about Color Theory with Kyla Crawford from Kyla’s Lab yarns. Kyla will guide us through theories on color as well as through some exercises and play with color. So unleash your mind. And bring a box of crayons – or colored pencils – something you can use to color inside and outside the lines.
We’ll send out a Zoom invitation for the June meeting.
And keep watching your mailbox — we plan to be back in person later this summer. Details to come.

KNIT Zoom Meeting – Scrappy Ray shawl

We are so excited to have engaged Designer Thamo Hurly to teach her Scrappy Ray Shawl. We have limited availability to other chapter members to join our chapter. The fee for joining (if you don’t belong to KNIT) is $25 (includes pattern). Have you ever wondered how to use up all those scraps of yarn that you keep in your stash? This is the perfect class to help solve that problem.  Thamo will teach us how to get the most of our leftovers or minis to produce a shawl that you will be proud to wear or gift. We have availability for 6 more knitters. This is going to be a GREAT KNIT meeting.
How to join: email Paula at pdctexas@gmail.com to determine if space is available space and how to pay.
