KNIT Meeting – Cast-ons & Cast-offs

We are back to in-person meetings and focusing this September’s program on Cast-ons & Cast-offs!
Our meeting will highlight creating a hem at the cast-on edge and i-cord cast-off.

Also, there will be show and share of your recently completed projects!

KNIT Meeting – Cast-ons / Cast-offs

Our meeting will highlight two different pairs of cast-ons/cast-offs.
In addition, for show and share, bring or have pictures of the following for the YEAR of COVID:
  1. Ugliest project you’ve worked on (not necessarily finished)
  2. Project you’re most proud of, and
  3. Most challenging project you’ve done this year.
Be prepared to share the count of your completed projects for THE YEAR OF COVID. If you have your Ravelry account, show us that. (Door prize for the most!).

KNIT Meeting –

Welcome back to Trini Mendehall for the Co-Presidents hand-off. We are excited to welcome as new Co-Presidents, Natalie and Karen. Bring your projects to work on. Let’s celebrate seeing each other. A virtual link will be provided for members who want to join online.

KNIT Zoom Meeting – Color Theory

Join us Tuesday June 8 at 6:30 via Zoom for a presentation and play about Color Theory with Kyla Crawford from Kyla’s Lab yarns. Kyla will guide us through theories on color as well as through some exercises and play with color. So unleash your mind. And bring a box of crayons – or colored pencils – something you can use to color inside and outside the lines.
We’ll send out a Zoom invitation for the June meeting.
And keep watching your mailbox — we plan to be back in person later this summer. Details to come.

KNIT Zoom Meeting – Scrappy Ray shawl

We are so excited to have engaged Designer Thamo Hurly to teach her Scrappy Ray Shawl. We have limited availability to other chapter members to join our chapter. The fee for joining (if you don’t belong to KNIT) is $25 (includes pattern). Have you ever wondered how to use up all those scraps of yarn that you keep in your stash? This is the perfect class to help solve that problem.  Thamo will teach us how to get the most of our leftovers or minis to produce a shawl that you will be proud to wear or gift. We have availability for 6 more knitters. This is going to be a GREAT KNIT meeting.

KNIT Meeting – Frogging

KNIT is starting our spring cleaning by a FROG session. Do you frog or tink? Come share tips and learn from others about starting fresh and starting over.

KNIT Meeting – Learn about Ravelry

In March, join us to learn the ins and outs of Ravelry. Stash? Tags? Tracking projects and future projects, we hope to cover all your questions. ZOOM link will be emailed. If you have a specific question, email it in early. KNIT Meeting – Fair Isle and Stranded colorwork

In January, Natalie revealed our KAL blanket for donation. It turned out great. We hope that the person who receives it is wrapped in its squishy love. Our February meeting is all virtual on ZOOM. We are learning tips on how to manipulate yarn for fair isle knitting and stranded colorwork in the round. Join us if you can. There is HOMEWORK. Check your email for pattern suggestions and homework, or contact me directly if you don’t get the email. This class is going to be COLORFUL and fun.

KNIT Meeting – Cables and felting

We will have a hybrid meeting either at Trini Mendenhall or via ZOOM. Look for the ZOOM link via email. Our January meeting covers two topics. First, a demonstration of Cables without a Cable needle, Second, a Round Table discussion of felting. Ruth will discuss an easy felt project with tips for the project. If you have any felting ideas or completed items, please bring them to the ZOOM and share. At the end of the meeting, we will do our annual survey about where the chapter is going in 2021. Happy New Year to everyone.

KNIT – December meeting

Join us for KNIT’s hybrid meetings. We meet on ZOOM, and If you want to join the ZOOM meeting with other KNIT members, you can meet at Trini Mendenhall and ZOOM from there. We miss those of you who haven’t been able to ZOOM. We will mask up and be safe at the Community Center.
