Fun with Fibonacci!

Jan will have samples of Fibonacci projects and give instructions with handouts. Please bring a Fibonacci project to show off if you have one.

Ifyou can’t wait to try it, bring assorted colors of small balls of yarn and appropriate size needles. Of course, bring anything you want for show and share!

Knitting in the Daytime (KIND)

Marsha Smith will be presenting a program on Intarsia. She is asking members to bring 2 contrasting colors of smooth worsted weight yarn, 2 balls that are 6 yards each for the background and 1 ball of 4 yards for the diamond pattern. Using #8 size needles, cast on 21 stitches of the background color and knit 2 rows. If you have bobbins, you can wind the yarn on them. A pattern will be provided at the meeting.

We will also be sharing the completed blocks that members have knitted for the Charity Blanket project.

February the month of ???

KNIT members will spend this meeting making chemo hats for cancer patients.

Some yarn will be provided or bring something LOVELY from your stash!

Chocolate will be available❣️

Knitters Night in Town (KNIT)

Our meeting this month will be led by Member Jamie Cochran.

Jamie will demonstrate some basic crochet techniques for knitters.

For homework, please KNIT a square, any pattern, using an ODD number of stitches and rows. This square should be at least 4×4”. Any previously made swatch or dishcloth can be used but must have the odd number of stitches and rows.

Supplies:

  • Worsted weight yarn (#4) will be easy to work with using a 5.5 mm to 6.5mm crochet hook.
  • DK weight yarn (#3) will use a 4mm-5mm size crochet hook.
  • Bring a contrast color yarn in the same weight as your square.
  • Both yarns should be basic yarns, not chenille or mohair etc. types of yarn.
  • We will make a decorative border, a hanging loop and a small appliqué embellishment.
