We have the meeting room at the back of the restaurant.

For everyone who went on the trip to Modern Skein please bring what you bought to share and whatever pattern you plan to use! If you were unable to join us, bring your current project in the works or in your queue! ?

June 8th is Knitting in Public Day. We will meet again at La Madeliene in Kingwood to have lunch and knit! It was a fun couple of hours last year!

Knit & Chat Nite

Join us for a relaxing evening of knitting and conversation.

The evening’s topic will be:

Do you like textured knitting? Do you have a favorite stitch pattern? Or one you tried and hated so much it became a UFO?

 

Feel free to bring problem knitting if you need help, charity projects, and of course anything you want to show. We’d love to see some of those finished necklaces!

Join the meeting for some Tips and Tricks on Amigurumi. Let’s have fun and crochet a Bee together!!

Bring: 3 Skeins of yarn (Yellow, Black and White) or any 3 colors of your choice. Yarn options with recommended hook size: iLoveThisYarn from Hobby Lobby (4.5mm or 5mm hook) and Red Heart from Joann (4.5mm or 5mm hook). If you are feeling adventurous, you can bring the yarn and hook size suggested in the pattern.

Notions: Stitch Markers, Darning Needles, Scissors, Row counter, Poly Fill Stuffing (Hobby Lobby or Walmart), and 14 mm Safety Eyes

 Katy Lace Knitters will meet on Tuesday, April 2nd, at 11 am at Luby’s on South Mason Road. Bring your current lace project to show or get help with a problem. Stay after the meeting to visit and eat lunch.

CHH Spinners

The Contemporary Handweavers of Houston (CHH) hosts spin-ins twice a month, the first Saturday of each month from 10-12 am, and the third Tuesday of the month at 6:30 pm. Both are held at the CHH Guild House, 1425 Blalock, 2nd floor. If you are a spinner, bring your wheel, drop spindle or e-spinner and check out our group and the guild. Knitters Night Out West (KNOW)

Knitters Night Out West (KNOW) – April 29, 6:30pm – 8:30pm

 WHEN: Last Monday of the month (Except May and December), 6:30-8:30pm

WHERE: Spring Creek Barbeque, 21000 Katy Freeway, I-10 at Westgreen Blvd, Katy, TX

 The April meeting will be all about shaping issues. We will be discussing how short rows can help make your sweater fit better in the bust, arm, tummy, and back. Amy Rogers will be discussing how to make adjustments using short rows, such as reshaping sleeves for your size, adding more stitches to accommodate a bigger chest, and so on. 

 Members often arrive early to visit and have dinner at the restaurant to show support for their generosity in allowing us to meet there. Guild members and visitors are welcome.

DATE: 3rd Thursday of the month, 10am – 12pm

WHERE: Bayland Community Center, 6400 Bissonnet, Houston, TX – near Bissonnet and Hillcroft

We invite everyone to do some stash-busting. Bring in any yarn in your stash for which you don’t have a plan. There will be tools to measure and estimate yardage if needed, and we’ll crowd-source ideas for projects.

Our April meeting will be a trip to The Modern Skein in Montgomery to see a discussion on the dying process by Joshua of Red Stag fibers.  We’ll have shopping at the store afterwards and then meet for lunch at one of the restaurants along the way back.

KnitCompanion, an indispensable tool, is available for both Apple and Android devices. It stores your patterns in electronic format so you don’t need to keep track of paper copies. Learn how to create a project, customize counting, mark up patterns, track progress, customize charts, make notes, and more!
