KNOW Meeting – Upcycling

The November meeting of KNOW will feature a program on Upcycling by Nancy.

Join us as we discuss what is upcycling, the impact of the textile
industry on the environment, and things we can do as fiber artists/enthusiasts to change
our impact. Let’s not be part of the problem, but part of the solution!

Members are also invited to show and share any of your completed projects.

Members often arrive early to visit over dinner and show their support to the restaurant
for their generosity in allowing us to meet there. Visitors and members from other
chapters are always welcome.

KIND Meeting – Stranded Knitting

Stranded knitting is all the rage, especially for sweater yokes!

Take your stranding to the next level with the help of Amy Rodgers, KIND’s guest speaker. Amy will cover tips and tricks to make your work easier and to get your colorwork creations to stand out in a good way!

For the meeting, please bring two colors of smooth wool yarn and appropriate needles – double points or circular needles so you can practice these techniques on a small swatch in the round.

They are created by knitting with LED fairy lights. The star and small version of the heart require a 66 foot (200 light) strand. The large heart requires a 99 foot (300 light) strand. They are available on Amazon and Ebay and possibly a local craft store.

Also, bring your Show and Share!!

The Zoom link will be included in the email to chapter members. If you are not a KNIT member, but would like to join via Zoom – contact Karen at knitatnightguildknit@gmail.com

KNOW Meeting – Pompoms & Tassels

Join us for a program on Pompoms and Tassels.
Pompoms and tassels add a lot of fun to your knitting projects. If you haven’t tried making them or want to explore a new technique, we will make pompoms & tassels using homemade templates. If you have purchased tools (i.e. Bucilla, Boye, Clover, etc.) please bring them and we will discuss them.
Homework:
Everyone should bring any project you would like to add a Pompom or tassel to, lots of leftover yarns, a tapestry/darning needle and a pair of sharp scissors for trimming. If you have a bent seaming needle, that would be helpful.
Members are also invited to show and share any of your completed projects.
