If our recent lace program piqued your interest in lace knitting, our March program will introduce you to common shawl shapes and how they incorporate lace patterns in their designs. Come see some fabulous shawls by Roxanne Rump and get inspired to make one of your own!
The KIND group will look at the various methods of knitting in the round for small-diameter projects like socks, mittens, and cosy koozies.
All are encouraged to bring fingering-weight yarn and appropriate needles, and we’ll collectively demo and share what we like about using our tools, whether it be circulars (short, extra-long for magic loop, or in pairs), cool new flexi-flips, or good old double-pointed straights.
PLEASE NOTE THE NEW MEETING TIME!!!
We will also have a show and share of current and/or completed projects!
KIND will begin a series of programs on colorwork.
For January, we will focus on mosaic knitting. Mosaic is one of the easiest ways to do complex colorwork patterns but uses only one color at a time. Come join us at the meeting to learn about mosaic knitting and try out one of these patterns.
To participate, you’ll need two colors of the same yarn, a light and a dark (take a photo and use your phone to convert it monochrome/black-and-white to ensure good contrast!). For needles, you can use circular or straight needles, but select ones 1-2 sizes larger than you would normally use for that yarn.
