SoCK Meeting – Prayer Shawls

Meeting Location Change (April only):

SoCK will meet at Yarn Store Boutique (8900 Eastloch Dr Suite #230, Spring, TX 77379).
The community center is closed for Easter weekend.
Prayer Shawls
Ever wanted to do something for that special friend that’s going through a rough time? That is exactly the idea around prayer shawls. With the correct intent you can turn any shawl pattern into a prayer shawl. Additionally, many organizations have prayer shawl ministries. Come join us at SoCK to find out more.
If you are interested in making a prayer shawl to share with a stranger, please bring straight or round needles in a size 13 to 17 (you choose what you are most comfortable knitting with) and two skeins of Lion Brand Homespun Yarn. Priscilla will share an easy pattern and tell you how to find a place to donate your completed shawl.

KNOW Meeting – Knitting for Babies

The March meeting of KNOW will feature a program on Knitting for Babies by Amy Rodgers. There are so many great ideas for adorable and useful baby gifts, and since they’re small, what a great way to try a new pattern or technique. Join us as we discuss patterns, yarn, stroller blankets, car seat blankets, hats, booties, and of course baby sweaters. Bring any items you’ve made, recommendations for patterns and any new knitters who would be interested in knitting or crocheting for babies. We love visitors!
We’ll have 2 patterns for knitting simple baby booties made on 2 straight needles and if you’re ready, a simple sock pattern with a turned heel. An extra DPN, crochet hook and a tapestry needle for sewing may be helpful.
Members are also invited to show and share any of your completed projects.
Members often arrive early to visit over dinner and show their support to the restaurant for their generosity in allowing us to meet there. Visitors and members from other chapters are always welcome.
We’re looking forward to seeing you on March 27th!

Members are also invited to show and share any of your completed projects.
