SoCK Meeting – Social scarf

We are continuing our Social scarf with the Diagonal pattern with a multiple of 9 st.
Our new featured patterns are:
  • The Punk Rock Princess hat – It is worked in fingering yarn with beading. I used sport weight yarn.  It is a paid pattern.
  • The other is Slipped Stripe Hat – it is worked in fingering or DK weight yarn. Just make sure you use the correct size of circular needles to get the correct gauge.  This is a free pattern.

SoCK – Beach Diamonds Wrap KAL

Join Sock as we begin our new KAL Ravelry: Beach Diamonds Wrap pattern by Ing-credible Threads Designs as a featured project. Yarn choices are Lion Mandala or your choice of any DK weight yarn.

We are also starting the Social scarf Ravelry: #06 Social pattern by Deborah Newton for our technique skills. This is a cable pattern block, co 64 in multiple 16 stitches plus12. Bring your stitch dictionary to help find a cable pattern if not using Vogue magazine fall 2020.

SoCK Secret Santa meeting

Hybrid meeting:  Zoom and Richard and Meg Weekly Community Center

Join SoCK as we celebrate our first virtual Secret Santa. We will also be sharing our favorite holiday snacks and beverages recipes and ideas with each other. We are currently working on our recent KAL – The Bright Side. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

SoCK November Meeting

Join SoCK at the Weekley Center or on Zoom for our latest KAL, the Bright Side, https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-bright-side . This is a free pattern on Ravelry. I also want to remind everyone to bring their finished KAL, Intermezzo,  the Cable Phone Case, or your mosaic bookmark, or trivet. We will have a drawing for those who have completed these projects. SoCK Meeting – Knitted phone cover

SoCK will meet via Zoom. Our next project will be a Knitted Cable iPhone Cover: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/knitted-cable-iphone-cover. The pattern is free on Ravelry. The techniques used are working the round with magic loop, long tail cast on, a easy cable and a three needle bind off. Be prepared to share your favorite type of cable needle with the group.

SoCK Meeting – SoCK makes socks!

Join SoCK as we explore making socks. We will be using the https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/toe-up-training-sock.This pattern is available as a free Ravelry download

Prior knowledge of magic loop knitting is helpful and using a circular needle is recommended. You will end up with a small sock that can be used as a key chain or even a swatch for a larger project.

This pattern uses Judy’s Magic Cast On and Jeni’s stretchy bind off . The heel uses wrap & turn short rows.

Our meeting will be through Zoom. Invitations will be sent to the SoCK members. If you are not a SoCK member but want to attend, contact Debbie.
