KNIT Meeting – Patty Lyons’ Knitting Tips
PLEASE NOTE THE NEW MEETING TIME!!!
Come join KNIT for a Program on: Knitting tips
Patty Lyons’ new book, Knitting Bag of Tricks, will be shared including jogless stripes, joining in the round, bind off in pattern, count your cast on, ending the round smoothly, ditching the knot, and dropping a cast on stitch.
Members are encouraged to share their favorite tips also!
We will also have a show and share of current and/or completed projects!
KNIT Meeting – Holiday Potluck
Join KNIT this month for the following events:
- Holiday Potluck – Celebrate the holidays with your fellow knitters at our annual holiday potluck. Please let us know if you plan to attend and what dish you will bring (sweet or savory). The chapter will provide the utensils, paper products, and beverages.
Email Karen by Dec 11th @ [email protected] to let her know what you are bringing for the potluck. - Yarn Exchange – Bring a wrapped (doesn’t have to be fancy, a plain bag will do) skein of nice yarn (no acrylic please) for a fun exchange of yarn.
- Show and share of your recently completed projects.
KNIT Meeting – Knit-Along (KAL)
Join our October program as we begin a knit-along with Laura Nelkin’s Starry Light or Love and Light (both available on Ravelry).
They are created by knitting with LED fairy lights. The star and small version of the heart require a 66 foot (200 light) strand. The large heart requires a 99 foot (300 light) strand. They are available on Amazon and Ebay and possibly a local craft store.

KNIT Meeting – Techniques for Joining Yarn
Join our September program on Hands-on techniques for joining a new yarn.
Members will have an opportunity to share methods and practice techniques for joining yarn. You are encouraged to share more than one technique – for different types/weights of yarn, color work etc. Also, bring your Show and Share!!
Homework:
Bring a variety of scrap yarns and needles to practice.
KNIT Meeting – Creativity Exercise
- August program – Kathy Wells will lead a creativity exercise. Each member should bring 3-4 SMALL balls of yarn to share for the activity. Bring different weights, fingering to super bulky, and a variety of textures- any ply, boucle, ribbon, fun fur, satiny to homespun, etc. The yarn will be used by all for this fun and creative activity. Kathy will supply needles.

KNIT’s July program:
Crystal Smith will lead the July program – the topic is “Knitting with Beads”.
Any materials needed or homework will be supplied in an email to KNIT members.
