KIND will be having a holiday celebration!

All are asked to bring a savory or sweet dish to share.
Also, we will collect small toiletries to donate to a shelter or other charity.

KNIT Meeting – Holiday Cheer

Join us this month for a:

  1. Holiday Potluck – Celebrate the holidays with your fellow knitters at our annual holiday potluck. Please let us know if you plan to attend and what dish you will bring (sweet or savory). The chapter will provide the utensils, paper products, and drinks. Email Natalie by Dec 13th @ salter.natalie@gmail.com to let her know what you are bringing for the potluck.

  2. White Elephant Yarn Exchange – Bring a wrapped (doesn’t have to be fancy, a plain bag will do) skein of nice yarn (no acrylic please) for a fun exchange of yarn.

  3. Show and share of your recently completed projects.

SoCK Meeting – Bye 2021, Hello 2022

As we come to the close of 2021, we will reminisce about the projects and events from throughout the year, and while we look forward to 2022, we will discuss our New Year Resolutions: new techniques, new projects, and more events?!
We are also having a White Elephant gift exchange! This is open to all members and guests! If you would like to participate, please bring a wrapped gift with the following criteria: considered:
  1. Gift should be Knit or Crochet related/themed
  2. Max value ~$20
We hope to see you all in-person for this event; however, there will also be a zoom option for those who are unable to attend live. Just send a note to knitatnightguildsock@gmail.com and we will forward you the dial-in if you are not on our chapter mailing list.

KNOW Meeting – Knitter’s Self Care

KNOW’s November program will be Knitter’s Self Care presented by Amy Rodgers.
Amy will share with us some information on hand stretches, some articles and Carson Demers’ techniques. Members are invited to discuss if they have had experiences with Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy, and how they protect themselves.
Visitors and members from other chapters are always welcome. Members often arrive early to Spring Creek to visit over dinner. We’re looking forward to seeing you on November 29th!

KIK Meeting – Christmas Crafts

November is our annual knitting & yarn Christmas Celebration with Gloria Stafford!
Bring a tapestry needle and yarn in two different colors.
Gloria will provide card stock for the project.
Advisement: Covid restrictions at the library require social distancing. Due to the current Covid-19 threat level, we will follow current CDC & local guidelines and recommend that all attendees (both vaccinated and unvaccinated) wear masks.

KIND Meeting – Christmas Crafts

Join us for some knitted/crocheted/crafted Christmas ornaments or decorations!

Everyone is asked to bring any of these that they may have, no matter how long ago or recently. It would be helpful for you to bring the pattern and/or name of the yarn, if you can.

SoCK Meeting – Amigurumi

SoCK Member, Marie, will present a program on Amigurumi, showing us some basics of crocheted Amigurumi.
There are 2 suggested patterns for the program:

Note: HYBRID Meeting

  • For those comfortable and wanting to meet in-person, the meeting will be held in the Richard and Meg Weekly Community Center
  • For those wishing to stay on Zoom, the meeting also will be hosted virtually
  • If you need an invite, please email knitatnightguildsock@gmail.com

KNIT Meeting – Members Helping Members

Members Helping Members

Have a project in the back of your closet or designated as hibernating on Ravelry because you need assistance with a stitch, instructions or technique? Brush the cobwebs off the project, bring it to the meeting to take advantage of the expertise of other members, and get your project back on track.

Also, be sure to bring your recently completed projects for Show & Share!

While we hope to see you all in person, there will be a zoom option also available for those who unable to make it.  Just send a note to knitatnightguildknit@gmail.com and we will forward you the dial-in information if you are not on our chapter mailing list.

KNOW Meeting – Twisted Traveling Stitches

KNOW’s October program will be Twisted Traveling Stitches presented by Amy Rodgers.

This technique is associated with fine wool knitting on gloves and socks from the Bavarian region of Germany. She will introduce a simple pumpkin motif chart composed of zigs, zags, and twists.
In a break from tradition, we will be making it a back-and-forth design. Participants can choose between making a beverage coaster or a face/dish cloth.
  • If you want to make a beverage coaster, bring wool fingering or sport weight yarn and appropriate size needles
  • If you prefer face or dish clothes, bring a worsted weight cotton or linen
*Note: Amy’s tip is that sharper tapered points may be helpful since no cable needles are used!
Visitors and members from other chapters are always welcome. Members often arrive early to Spring Creek to visit over dinner. We’re looking forward to seeing you on October 25th!

KIK Meeting – Outlander KAL (continued)

In October, we will continue our Outlander KAL!

KAL – Boar Hunt Capelet, Part 2
We will finish knitting the Boar Hunt Capelet from the TV series Outlander. Bring your questions; there will be a short Q&A session to help with problems you may have encountered. We will also work the bind-off and learn the Chinese Waitress bind off technique.
Advisement: Covid restrictions at the library require social distancing. Due to the current Covid-19 threat level, we will follow current CDC & local guidelines and recommend that all attendees (both vaccinated and unvaccinated) wear masks.
